Just a Jol 2025:
Enchanted Garden

👇 We added a few more tickets! Grab them before we’re sold out.

You are cordially invited…

You (yes, you!) are invited to spend the weekend at the beautiful Cederkloof with a fantastic group of friends.

Friendship. Community. Good vibes.

In keeping with our themes of friendship, community, and good vibes, everyone attending has been personally vetted and invited by someone else. This is in line with our “no dickheads, no egos, no drama” policy.

It is a not-for-profit friend fest—every bit of effort and money goes into making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Receiving this invite then means two things:

  1. You have been selected as (and vouched for) being a fantastic person
  2. If you are attending, you may extend an invite and share this with four other people (e.g. two couples / four individuals max)

The primary reason is to have a celebration with friends, old and new, and to have one last skop with everyone under the stars before summer departs.

Oh, and we’re pulling out all the stops! Although this is most certainly a jol (DJ lineup coming soon), Cederkloof offers an abundance of awesome outdoor activities in nature surrounded by the beautiful Cederberg.

We are limiting numbers to 80 people, so please don’t wait to book your spot (week one: already 50% sold out).

What makes this so special is that it’s an intimate gathering of special friends; the kind of festival where you probably already know most of the other attendees (and certainly will meet all of them). Find your belongings where you left them the previous night, leave your door unlocked, and have a fantastic time with some other fantastic people.

The Venue

The Cederkloof Botanical Retreat is in the stunning Olifants River Valley at the foot of the majestic Cederberg Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the day there are various scenic hikes and mountain bike trails to enjoy, surrounded by rugged wilderness and vibrant birdlife.

Other than reconnecting with nature, you can float along the Olifants river, join us for a yoga session, connect with friends by the large central chilling area –with a fully equipped kitchen and large stoep where we’ll braai and dine together–  and a lekker swimming pool to shake off the summer heat before the night activites start.

The Accommodation

We’re trying to cater to all budgets and needs. There is very limited availability of the cottages and bell tents.

🏡 Cottages (per room)

There are ten, fully equipped cottages available, all with king-sized beds, a private jacuzzi, kitchen, lounge, and a deck with a braai area. Four of these cottages have two bedrooms (each with private en suite bathrooms); perfect for a group of four friends. Six of the cottages are single bedroom with private bathrooms.

Cost: R4,000 per room (R2,000 per person; you have to book an entire room) for the weekend.

⛺ Glamping Bell Tents (per tent)

Spacious glamping tents (5m x 5m) will be set up with a double bed, bedside tables, lights, duvet, linen, and pillows. Each tent will have electricity (TBD: we’re working on this!) and a carpet, and is conveniently close to outdoor showers with ablutions. Ten of the tents will be by the main house, the rest in the amphitheatre.

Cost: R3,000 per tent (R1,500 per person; you have to book an entire glamping tent) for the weekend.

🏕️ BYO (Bring Your Own)

Already have all your own camping goodies? Camp with us in the beautiful amphitheatre, nestled in nature, underneath the African skies.

Note that you will have access to the outdoor showers and ablutions, and also all the shared amenities at the main house, including the kitchen, shaded areas, swimming pool, braai area, and more.

Cost: R1000pp for the weekend.

The Vibe

The weekend is a celebration of friendship and community—a coming together of beautiful humans in a beautiful space.

You are the vibe.

In the spirit of community, we’ll do a harvest table for lunch on Saturday, so you will be asked to please bring a large dish to add to the feast. We will share suggested plates in the event’s WhatsApp group closer to the time.

There will be fires aplenty to braai each night, otherwise you can make your own meals in the various cooking areas.

As we aren’t doing this for profit, we really will appreciate your help making this thing work. Bring skills to help set up, ideas to make it come together, your strong gees (matching your amazing dress-up costumes), help us share the event with four of your besties, or simply give your new friend a rehydrate in the morning.

The Schedule

Thursday, 13 March

Arrive early if you want to 🌄 (just make sure you paid a little extra to play a little extra, if you’re glamping or in a cottage).

We’ll be setting up so feel free to lend a hand, but this is mostly a time for you to relax 🧘‍♂️ and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the farm before the party starts.

Jacuzzi, braai, board games and stargazing.

Friday, 14 March

Most will arrive at Cederkloof in the afternoon and then check in to your epic accommodation 🏠

We’ll be lighting the fires from 6pm 🔥 for people to braai into the sunset.

Music 🎵 will start at 8pm until 12pm (saving your gees and serotonin for Saturday 😉).

Saturday, 15 March

Fuel up for the main day! Do your own thing for brekkie in one of the many kitchen areas 🍳

Some of us are doing the morning hike 🥾 or you can take the MTB trail around the mountain 🚲

Others will no doubt head to the river for a float 🚣‍♀️ before lunch: bring a lilo 🛶 or other floatie!

Otherwise, just hang out in the gardens around the swimming pool with your friends, old and new.

Other suggested daytime activities

Noon – 13:00: For lunch, we’re doing a harvest table at noon sharp, please bring something to share. We’ll provide breads 🥖, spreads, and general snacks.

13:00 – 18:00: 🎶 Afternoon tunes will start after lunch. Spend the day chilling by the pool, in the shade, in the sun, by the house, on the lawn, drink in hand. Show your support for our daytime DJs.

18:00-20:00: 🍕 Wood fired handcrafted pizza, for everyone! We’ll provide the pizzas, mozzarella, and tomato base. Please bring your favourite toppings.

We’ll be taking a music break and will light some fires for those who prefer to braai. This is a good time to freshen up and do a costume change as the night’s jol is starting soon.

20:00-02:00: The Botanical Starlight Dancefloor kicks off at 8pm sharp 🌟💃. Come dressed in your botanical best. We’re creating an awesome space with an epic sound system and amazing DJs that’ll keep that takkie squeaking all night long! 🕺

Sunday, 16 March

Stay and chill as long as you want 🌅 or spend one last quiet night with and leave on Monday. Decompression Sunday is the best 🛋️

👇 We added a few more tickets! Grab them before we’re sold out.

The Lineup

We’ll have a variety of tunes to keep everyone shaking their hips, tapping their feet, and dancing the night away under the stars in our enchanted garden. Expect a mix of lively beats, dreamy melodies, and jazzy daytime rhythms to set the perfect atmosphere! ✨🎶🌿

PERFORMERWHAT TO EXPECT
Disco Biscuit“The name says it all. Neon, retro, glam and funky, bell-bottomed tunes.”
Skollie Parton“A dusty blues train through the rocky desert outcrops towards the people in purple hats dancing on the speakers”
DJ M-Net Open Time“A little bit of jazz, a little bit of soul, a little bit of funk. Sunny tunes ☀️. Best enjoyed seated on the lawn, or in the pool, gin & tonic in hand.”
Jam Hazard“A low-end rumble wrapped in swagger, where rhythm gets its hands dirty and the groove drips with attitude.”
DJ Eggy (a.k.a. DSTV Full Bouquet Prime Time)“Rolling rhythmic basslines and layered grooves. The focus is on the textures and sounds that build throughout the set, making the journey more important than any single track.”
Neilo“A mix of silk and soil, light and shadow. Where the bassline whispers to the serotonin humming through your veins.”
Glenvst“Party beats”
Micky Moves“Things that go doof in the night”

The FAQs

Is the weekend kid friendly?

No, it’s an adult jol. That said: kids aren’t outright banned. All of the parents (so far) are opting to attend without them. (Basically: it will be kak for one parent to have to babysit. But maybe that’s better than missing out entirely).

Is it pet friendly?

Same as above.

What about electricity?

There is power at the main house and in the cottages. We’re running extensions to the bell tents. Sadly there is no power at the BYO (a generator would have been too disruptive).

What about Internet and a place to work for a little bit on Friday?

There is very spotty cell phone coverage, but free and open WiFi (5mb up/down) at the house and at all the cottages.

What shouldn’t I pack?

Frustrations and any negative vibes. Toss ’em out the window on the N7. Won’t need ‘em.

What should I pack?

It still gets hot in March: pack a hat and sunscreen. It gets cold at night: pack a puffer or spare sleeping bag.
